Everything you need to know about Varsity Score — from recording quality to privacy.

The App

What devices is Varsity Score compatible with?

Varsity Score is available for iPhone and iPad running iOS 15.0 or later. The app is built natively for Apple devices to ensure the best recording quality and performance.

Is there a subscription fee?

No. Varsity Score is free to download with no subscription fees, no in-app purchases, and no hidden costs.

Recording

Where are my recordings saved?

All recordings are saved directly to your iPhone or iPad Photos app. This means your videos are automatically backed up if you have iCloud Photos enabled, and you can easily share them or transfer them to other devices.

What video quality does the app record in?

Varsity Score records in high definition at 60fps for smooth, professional-looking footage. The exact resolution depends on your device model, but all supported devices produce excellent quality video.

Does the app need an internet connection?

No. Varsity Score works completely offline. You do not need WiFi or cellular data to record games. This is perfect for gyms and venues with poor connectivity.

Scoring

How do I update the score during recording?

Simply tap the score buttons on screen while recording. The interface is designed to be easy to use with one hand, so you can update scores without taking your eyes off the game for long.

Is Varsity Score built specifically for volleyball?

Yes. Varsity Score is volleyball-first: it uses set-based rally scoring (sets to 25, deciding set to 15) with a live overlay showing set scores, team names, logos, and the current set number. Everything — from the scoring taps to the overlay layout — is designed for the way volleyball matches are played and watched.

Can I customize the score overlay appearance?

Yes. You can customize team names and the overlay is designed to be clean and professional without obstructing the action. We keep the design minimal so it enhances rather than distracts from your recordings.

Streaming

Can I stream live to Twitch or Facebook?

Yes. Varsity Score supports live streaming to Twitch, Facebook Live, and varsityscoreapp.com simultaneously while recording to your device locally. Your full HD recording is saved even when streaming.

How does Watch Live on the website work?

When you stream through Varsity Score, your game automatically appears live on varsityscoreapp.com. Anyone can watch — no app download or account required.

Privacy

Is my data private?

Absolutely. Varsity Score does not collect any personal data, does not require an account, and does not upload your recordings anywhere. Everything stays on your device unless you choose to share it.
