Information You Provide
When you use the Service, you may provide the following information:
- Account information when signing in with Google (name, email address, profile photo)
- Team names, player information, and tournament details you enter for score tracking
- Game settings and preferences
- Videos and audio recordings created within the App
- Live video and audio streams broadcast through the Service
Automatically Collected Information
We collect functional analytics data such as app usage patterns, feature interactions, and crash reports to improve the Service. We do not collect or store personal customer data beyond what is described in this policy.
How We Use Your Information
The information you provide is used exclusively for:
- Displaying live score overlays during game recordings
- Saving your game recordings to your device
- Broadcasting live streams to varsityscoreapp.com and third-party platforms (Twitch, Facebook)
- Displaying live streams on the Website for public viewing
- Authenticating your account and managing your profile
- Maintaining your team, tournament, and game settings
- Improving the Service through anonymized usage analytics
Live Streaming and Video Content
Live Streams: When you stream a game through Varsity Score, the live video and audio feed is transmitted to our servers and made publicly available on varsityscoreapp.com in real time. Anyone with access to the Website can view active live streams. Live streams are not stored on our servers after the broadcast ends.
Third-Party Streaming: If you choose to stream to Twitch or Facebook, your video and audio are also transmitted to those platforms. Their respective privacy policies govern how they handle that content.
Score Data: Real-time score updates, team names, and set information are transmitted alongside your stream and displayed publicly to viewers on the Website.
Local Recordings: Recordings saved locally to your device remain entirely under your control and are not uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly choose to do so.
Data Storage and Security
Local Storage: Game recordings, team names, and settings are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. Videos are not uploaded to our servers unless you choose to stream or upload them.
Server Storage: Account information, game metadata, tournament details, and score data are stored on our secure servers to enable features like live streaming, score tracking, and tournament management.
Your Control: You have complete control over your data. You can delete recordings and information at any time through your device's storage settings or within the App.
Security: Your data is protected by your device's built-in security features, including device encryption and passcode protection.
Third-Party Services
Varsity Score integrates with the following third-party services to provide functionality:
- Google OAuth for account authentication (name, email, profile photo)
- Twitch for live streaming (when you choose to stream to Twitch)
- Facebook Live for live streaming (when you choose to stream to Facebook)
- Aptabase for privacy-focused, anonymized app analytics
We do not sell your personal information to any third parties. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking services.
Camera and Microphone Access
The App requires access to your device's camera and microphone to record games. This access is used solely for:
- Recording video of games and saving to your device
- Capturing audio during recordings (can be muted)
- Broadcasting live video and audio when streaming
Recordings are saved directly to your device. When you choose to stream, your camera and microphone feed is also transmitted to the streaming platform(s) you have selected.
Children's Privacy
Varsity Score does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App is designed for general audiences and stores all data locally on the user's device. Parents and guardians should supervise children's use of the App.
Your Rights
You have control over your information:
- Access: You can access all your data within the App or through your device's file system
- Deletion: You can delete any or all data at any time through the App or device settings
- Portability: You can export and share your recordings as you wish
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
